Dear Colleagues and Friends,
In June 2012, the 20th Anniversary Meeting of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) will be hosted in England; the venue of the congress is Church House -an historic building within a stone's throw of Westminster Abbey- in the heart of Central London.
The 2012 ESTI congress programme is designed to appeal not only to thoracic radiologists but to all who have an interest in the diagnosis and management of patients with chest disease. With an internationally recognised faculty of speakers from Europe and North America, ESTI 2012 promises to be an outstanding scientific and educational course. In addition to scientific sessions and two pre-congress "Hands-On" workshops, the programme will include dedicated sessions on lung cancer (diagnosis, staging and management), pulmonary vascular disease, current issues in interstitial lung disease and thoracic intervention. A plenary session on lung cancer screening will be run in collaboration with the North American Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) with whom ESTI now has close links. A cardiac CT session will feature and there will parallel "basic" and "advanced" HRCT courses.
ESTI 2012 promises to be an exciting event in the thoracic imaging calendar and one which I sincerely hope is attractive not only to those practising in thoracic radiology, but other radiologists and physicians who share an interest in caring for patients with pulmonary disease.
I look forward to welcoming you all to London in summer 2012!
Sujal Desai
President, European Society of Thoracic Imaging 2012
